“Indodax, a cryptocurrency exchange in Indonesia, is report to have suffered a breach with illegal transactions resulting in losses exceeding USD 21.8 million, which is approximately Rp 335 billion,” Teguh mentioned on his Twitter account.

According to the post, Teguh indicate that the losses amount to hundreds of billions of rupiah, and this information has been confirm by the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

“The CTO of Indodax has confirmed that there was a security incident, and the status of Indodax remains under maintenance,” he stated.

In response to the hacking news, Indodax’s CEO Oscar Darmawan assured that the balances of its members are completely safe, both in cryptocurrency and in rupiah.

“We are performing maintenance to ensure the overall security of the system. An investigation is still ongoing,” said Oscar.

Through a company blog, Indodax provided an update to its members, confirming that their security team had identified potential security issues on their platform.

As Oscar mentioned, Indodax is conducting thorough maintenance to ensure that all systems function properly.

“During this maintenance period, the Indodax’s web platform and application are temporarily inaccessible, but rest assured that your balances are 100 percent safe, both in cryptocurrency and rupiah,” stated Indodax.

The hackers have converted most of the stolen assets into native tokens and currently hold:

• 5,584 ETH (USD 13 million)
• 16.74 million TRX (USD 2.56 million)
• 6.84 million POL (USD 2.55 million)
