The incident highlighted how a small internal change could expose the model to high-risk content circulating on the platform.

Elon Musk later acknowledged the issue, stating that Grok had become “too compliant to user prompts” and was open to manipulation. As part of its transparency efforts, the team has now published the updated system prompt on GitHub for public review.
